BARBER COURSE OF STUDY (1,500 CLOCK HOURS)

The curriculum for students enrolled in a barbering course shall consist of fifteen hundred (1,500) clock hours of technical instruction and practical operations covering all practices constituting the art of barbering pursuant to Section 7316 of the Barbering and Cosmetology Act.

For the purpose of this section, technical instruction shall mean instruction by demonstration, lecture, classroom participation or examination. Practical operation shall mean the actual performance by the student of a complete service on another person or on a mannequin.

The course of instruction in the practical phases of babering required for a student enrolled in a 1,500 hour course shall cover not less than 1,300 hours, including training in basic haircutting and in hairstyling of all textures of hair at the discretion of the school owner/instructor.

The Baber's training consists of 1,500 clock hours which includes a minimum of 225 clock hours of technical instruction (lecture, demonstration, classroom participation and/or examination) and the following minimum specified practical operations: Hair Cuts and Hair Styles, Rest Facials, Scalp Manipulation, Hair Coloring/Tinting, Shaving, Shampoos, Hair Waving and Curling, Hair Processing and Relaxing.
